Opting For Dental Implants To Repair Unappealing Teeth

Dentist Blog

Do you lack the confidence to apply for a particular job because your teeth are not appealing to look at when you smile? Depending on the condition of your oral health, you might be able to get your teeth repaired with dental implants so you can have the confidence needed to apply for the job position before it is filled. Learn some of the reasons why opting for dental implants is a great way to get satisfactory results for your teeth without having to wait a long time.

What Can Lead to the Dental Implant Procedure Taking Longer?

The only thing that will lead to the dental implant procedure taking longer is if you have a lot of underlying oral health problems that need to be treated. For instance, if you have weak jawbones, a dentist will have to perform bone grafting before he or she can install dental implants in your mouth. You might also have to get treated in advance if you have gum disease or a dental abscess. Basically, your oral health has to be in a satisfactory condition before a dentist can move forward with the dental implant procedure.

How is the Dental Implant Procedure Performed?

The dental implant procedure can be performed while you are under general or local anesthesia. If you don't want to know what's going on during the process, general anesthesia can be used to make you unconscious until it is over. A dentist will begin by drilling holes in your jawbones so that the implants can be attached. The dentist then place metal posts in the holes, and they will be screwed inside to make sure that they are secure. The dentist will then move forward with adding abutments to the metal posts and will attach the artificial teeth to the abutments.

Will the Dental Implants Look Unnatural?

You don't have to worry about your dental implants looking unnatural when you apply for the job. Implants are actual almost identical looking to natural teeth and no one will know that you have them unless you say so. The color of the artificial teeth will also be matched to the natural teeth that are in your mouth to make sure all of them blend well together. You should also keep in mind that dental implants are permanent and you can use them to eat food without worrying about them falling out or feeling strange. Make an appointment for dental implants soon so you can get them in time to apply for the job that you want!

Coping With Dental Emergencies

My son was outside playing with some friends when he accidentally fell down and hit his mouth on the sidewalk. The fall knocked out his front tooth, so I immediately placed the tooth in a small jar and added some milk. I rushed my son to the dental clinic and the dentist immediately took us into the examination room. The dentist placed the tooth back into the socket and saved it. My name is Beverly Tillman and thanks to the quick work of the dentist, my son didn't lose his tooth. Since this was a scary time for me and my son, I wanted to write this blog as a source of information for other parents who are facing a dental emergency. First of all, don't panic and get to your dentist as soon as possible. I hope this blog will help to answer your questions about dental emergencies.
