If you have been lucky enough to be blessed with white teeth, then you want to make sure you do everything that you possibly can to keep those nice-looking teeth. If you aren't careful, you can look in the mirror one day and wonder what went wrong. The darker, more stained, and more discolored you allow your teeth to become, the harder, longer, and more costly it can be for you to get your teeth back to the beautiful white coloring that they once had naturally. The tips in this article are going to help you to have the right frame of mind when it comes to maintaining whiter teeth.
Think about your teeth consciously
You want to make a conscious effort to think about your teeth throughout the day. When you are going to grab something to drink while you are out, consider whether or not that drink can contribute to teeth staining. Teas, sodas, and coffee drinks are some examples of drinks you may not want to grab. Instead, you can choose water, milk, or another option that isn't going to contribute to staining. You want to have this same frame of thought with regards to the foods that you choose to eat. Go for a nice cupcake with white frosting over one that has blue frosting made with blue food coloring that can really lead to staining.
Chew sugarless gum anytime you can't care for your teeth in other ways
If you are in the position of not being able to floss or brush your teeth after eating a meal that you know has things in it that can lead to staining, then the next best thing you can do for your teeth is to chew some sugarless gum. The sticky gum will remove those food particles from the surfaces of your teeth, and the gum can even reach those hard-to-reach areas between your teeth.
Always make time for tooth care
Even if you are a person who spends a lot of time away from home, you want to be sure you do what you need to in order to take care of your teeth the way you are supposed to. You can always bring a tooth care kit with you so you don't miss out on opportunities to brush or floss like you are supposed to. You can also choose to use a whitening toothpaste instead of a regular one.

My son was outside playing with some friends when he accidentally fell down and hit his mouth on the sidewalk. The fall knocked out his front tooth, so I immediately placed the tooth in a small jar and added some milk. I rushed my son to the dental clinic and the dentist immediately took us into the examination room. The dentist placed the tooth back into the socket and saved it. My name is Beverly Tillman and thanks to the quick work of the dentist, my son didn't lose his tooth. Since this was a scary time for me and my son, I wanted to write this blog as a source of information for other parents who are facing a dental emergency. First of all, don't panic and get to your dentist as soon as possible. I hope this blog will help to answer your questions about dental emergencies.
